New to southwest oregon

I was just transferred here in the coast guard to brookings. I have a general elk archery tag and have been looking at hunting the sixes unit. Any advice on hunting that unit or a better place to go within a few hours of brookings?

Welcome to Oregon and thank you for your service!

I live inland a ways and don't have a clue where to send you on a hunt.

If it were me, I'd look up the local chapter of The Oregon Hunters Association, join and introduce myself.

There's a lot of good folks in that organization as well as ODFW personal that can help get you pointed in the right direction.
