Hi my name is Dave.
I just found this site and love it. I already ask one question on the "Elk" Forum but realize now I should have started out here. I enjoy the outdoors, hunting and hiking with my yellow lab and golden (just hiked up Pikes Peak last week). I grew up as a kid hunting and camping in Pennsylvania. I fell in love with Colorado and the West when I was first stationed here with the Army. Along the way, I also lived and hunted in Alaska for 4 years. After 27 years I retired from the Army and have been in Colorado since 2002.

I’m married to a wonderful woman and have a son and a daughter (who just got married). I love my family and being in the outdoors and hope to stay healthy long enough to keep enjoying both.

Thanks for the opportunity to particiate in your forum.

Dave

Hi Dave, welcome to a great place to talk hunting. My father retired from Fort Carson and decided to make Manitou Springs home. I hiked Barr trail several times. It is a great area to call home. I live close by now and have a great view of Pikes Peak from my living room. Good to have you aboard.

Welcome bro. This is a good place to hang out and talk hunting. It is also a great place to learn about gear and other hunting related topics. Enjoy

My 1st assignment was Fort Carson and my last 2 were Peterson AFB & Cheyenne Mountain/NORAD. I live in Cascade near the Pikes Peak toll booth, just up hwy 24 from Manitou. Great talking with you!!

Welcome fellow "Mountain Post" alum. Carson has to be one of the best assignments in the Army - it was my first duty station. Nice elk herd down on the training area if you can still get on...
