New shotgun troubles

Just bought my 11 year old boy his first shotgun. Remington 870 20gauge. Now I'm faced with a problem, I'm real excited to give it to him and want to take him out tonight to bust some birds but not only is Christmas next month but so is his birthday on the 21st! It was meant as bday gift but I want him to have it now. Hmmmmm

Man.... I killed a lot of stuff with my youth model 870, that my dad gave to me a month before my birthday!!! He got in trouble every year for giving me my birthday presents early.

I recommend giving it to him early, and getting in trouble with mama.

Get him 2! A 20 ga for his birthday and move up to a 12 ga fro Christmas. Problem solved.

Give it to him now and give him cleaning supplies and ammo for Christmas and birthday. Then teach him how to use both.

Hand it over! I did it with my oldest expect it was his first rifle before a deer hunt. You and your son won't regret it, especially with the memories that'll be made!
