New Member from Wisconsin checking in. Recently retired. Love hunting and fishing. Lived in Arizona for a while where I got to do some fantastic Elk, Mule Deer, Javelina and Coyote hunting. Have hunted Montanna and Colorado a few times. Asked some guys from WI last year that if they ever had an opening on their hunt to WY I would love to go. This year they gave me the opportunity. Didn't get drawn for the region we wanted but were able to purchase some leftover Mule Deer tags for Region J. 1st time hunting in WY and looking for any info or tips for the region. Any hunt area to avoid or better than the others? Any special rules or regulations to be aware of? Camping restrictions? Any and all information will be most appreciated. Thanks and looking forward to the Forum. Love the Eastman's show on TV.

Welcome to the forum! Wish I had some info to share with you for your hunt but I am not familiar with that area. Glad you joined!

Welcome aboard! You can not camp on an state land. You can camp on BLM, and USFS, check for fire restrictions if your going to have camp fires, currently they are in effect in 6 counties. I've only hunted up there a few times, but seen a bunch of deer on the broken BLM off of hwy 34 SW of Wheatland. Good luck!

Hey Bruiser.... Shoot me a PM. Was supposed to go elk hunting with the bow in colorado this year, but got roped into unit J this year in Wyoming for deer. I have hunted Wyoming for Mulies before, but never been to J. Let me know if you have any recommendations or tips for the area.
