Hello all,
I'm new to the forum but have been lurking around for years, I figured it was time to get out and finally start posting as I'm looking for help this year with a New Mexico tag I've drawn in 2b (see mule deer or New Mexico threads). So lets get the intro out of the way. I'm from WI and I have a disease that many of you here also seem to have in that I fall in love with every kind of hunting/outdoor activity I'm exposed to. As a youth I had aspirations to become a wildlife biologist but ended up heading down a different path as talking to several showed me that while its a rewarding career it leaves little time to hunt for yourself come opening day. I choose a second option and became a paramedic/firefighter also rewarding. What this job lacks in coin is made up with my ability to manipulate my work schedule to a point were I enjoys having off from mid September to mid December, give or take depending on what I'm trying to kill. I do bust my hump the rest of the year, my record shift is 144 hours straight. I've been in the habit of putting away some money every month since I was hired on right out of collage and the war chest is finally large enough to allow me to cast a big net out west and see what tags I can haul back. This forum and journal have been an asset like none other helping me decide were to put in and advice when drawn, especially because I'm a strict DIY hunter. So I'm hoping to have some fun and posting some pictures in the future. Hoping at some point I can gain some more knowledge that I in turn can give back.
Thanks all,
Madtrapper
