Howdy ya'll,
I've been around several forums and on and off Eastmans for a while. I grew up outside hunting and fishing and lived all over as a my father was in the Air Force. I've settled my family several years ago in Atlanta GA, but my folks have lived in Pueblo CO now for 20 years.
So I'm trying to figure out the GA hunting scene. Took my first 4 point GA buck last season (only my second buck for me). I practiced the gutless method on him and it worked out quite well. I keep looking for a North GA bear and have seen a couple.
I'm also trying to get my first ELK. This year will be my fourth attempt at a CO bull. I've been going to southern CO as I really enjoy the scenery, but finding elk has been a challenge. I will say from my first to my third season the number of elk encounters has gone from 1 elk sighting the first 10 day trip, to 5 elk sighting for my last 10 day trip. Still a challenge and I'm mostly clueless.
So, I'm reading as much as I can and getting better / smarter every day. At this point, I have my camp gear mostly figured out. I'm setting up a new bow for this season (and giving back the bow i was borrowing).
I'm looking forward to getting out there and wish everyone a successful year!
