That's a great unit for deer. I've seen some big bucks in there during the late season. I'll get some info together for you and send you a PM.

I had a buddy that had this tag a couple years ago, from what I remember they filled most of their tags in the Indian Creek Area. I have no idea where that's at but that might give ya a little more info to add to your plan.

I would give the biologist a call and talk to him, I did and he had some info on deer as well. I drew a cow tag so I will be there before you and If I fill my tag early and get home, I will shoot you an PM with what I saw or PM me your number and can call on my way home. Are you planning any scouting trips?

There are deer in the flats as well as the mountains. Look in Cooper canyon, Black Mt. And continue north. There was a big burn north of there about 2-3 years ago. I would def check that out.

Just avoid the success loop. Seems like that's where everybody goes.
The area around Indian creek that woodtick mentioned could be good. It's rugged stuff and most people don't put in the effort
to climb up away from the road.
On the other side of the mountain Cleave creek can be good, but don't go up the creek like everybody else. My brother hunted the
rimrock away from the creek and saw some pretty nice deer. It will probably be HOT during that early season.
Good luck on your hunt.
