I'm looking for a lion hunt in Nevada for next year. If any one knows of any reasonable priced hunts with a quality experience i would love to hear about them. I'm not looking for a huge lion just a great race.

sorry bud, my father had a guide service and ran dogs but gave it up a while ago, it turned his passion into a job and took all the fun away from it. It is like pulling teeth to get him out in the field nowadays.

I hear great things about Nick Perchetti (spelling ?) of timberline outfitters out of tonopah though. I have talked to him a little bit and seems like a stand up dude. good luck

I agree with DR, I ran into the Timberline boys over in the Schells during my bull hunt. Bs'd for a while in camp, they seemed to be very good guys.

However H3Dad, I am 99.9% sure that your CAN NOT bring a lion back into California due to the moratoriam. It does't matter where the cat was taken. I did hear something a few months ago about posible exceptions to this law and I think the powers to be are allowing some cats in the state for educational purposes and or museum settings.

Like I said, I'm not totally 100% sure on this point but if your planning a cat hunt it would suck not to be able to bring your cat home.

I'm droping off my bull cape at my taxidermist tomorrow, I'll ask some questions and try to get some answers.

I've heard the same on my end. Unless it has changed since I looked last but I doubt it has. Your ok, killing one out of state, just don't get caught bringing it back into CA or having it in the state unless you have one of the special permits mentioned.

You guys are right, I know for a fact you can't bring a lion back into the state. I Would have to donate it or give it away to someone, although I'm not sure if it is legal to do so in Nevada. If anyone knows if it is legal or knows of program in Nevada were you can donate legally harvested animals that would be great. It may not be legal, I just picked Nevada because it the closest state to me to legally run lions with dogs. I,m Sure Timberline Outfitters would know all this info. Thank you!
