Thanks. They had to be born in the last week or two. This is the first I've seen them.

Calves weigh generally between 28 and 36 pounds at birth, but they grow fast on mama's milk. Twins are common. Most of them go as bear food at this time of year. I flew a couple days ago and all the bears were down low in the moose calving flats, slurping them up.

The cat was fixated on the moose, but you got it right, mom would stomp it flat! We had a cow stomp a couple ladies on bicycles just the other day. I heard that one got hurt pretty badly. They're dangerous this time of year!

That's awesome. I wish I would have had my camera close yesterday. I had a doe with a new fawn go through the yard. I don't think the fawn could have been too old. Still looked pretty wobbly as it stumbled across the back yard.
