Sorry to hear that. I lost a probable B&C whitetail to weather once early in my hunting days. I made a solid hit and watched him pack the arrow as he ran away for about 150yds with the arrow sticking out right behind the shoulder. I left and planned to come back in a couple hours just to be safe. We got hit with a storm that just blew up right there and got 4" of rain, the creeks all flooded. I think he went to water and got flushed down the creek by the time we went back. It was only a couple miles from home and we searched everywhere for days, watched for birds, and checked after burning the pasture in the spring. Only thing that we could figure. It sucks but it happens if you hunt long enough.

Slugz, sorry to hear! Really wishing for better news but unfortunately sometimes this is the way it ends! Thanks for all the updates and pictures!

bummer. if possible, I would go back in a week and search for signs of birds an predators. to late for meat but at least you might find out what came of him an possibly at least retrieve the antlers
Yeah. I'm gonna head back in on the 10th to start scouting for 1st rifle. Gonna allocate a day to head to that side of the mountain and take another look see.
