I got a call this morning from the vice chairman of the Nebraska Game and Parks commission... he told me my name was the one drawn from about 1200 plus names in a resident only big horn sheep lottey. WOW...best $25 I ever donated!!! Nebraska only lets 2 hunters each year ( some years they never have a season) hunt sheep... an auction tag, usually around $100,000 and a resident lottery. Never hunted sheep before and probably never will again but come Dec. I'll be in North West Nebraska ON A 5 day guided all expense paid hunt. The game and parks sheep biologist guides and you stay at Fort Robinsion state park. The state has not had a season on sheep for the last 3 (?) years and one biologist told me there are some brutes out there this year!! Get to take a buddy on the states dime so I hope my son can go. Maybe another buddy also but we will have to pay his way. A ONCE IN A LIFETIME event for sure!!!

Way Togo, now go buy a lottery ticket. Keep us updated on the hunt. I would love to see some great pictures of the ram and you!

Wow congratulations on a fantastic tag. Completely immerse yourself in this hunt and enjoy it to its fullest!! Take lots of pictures, and then take some more. It would also be a good time to consider getting a good solid video camera like a GoPro. You would never regret it. I hope you find a beautiful old ram. Take two rifles with you just in case as well. One is none and two is one!!

Congratulations on winning the hunter's lottery. Feels good doesn't It. I drew a Desert Bighorn tag here in California last year. Will almost assuredly be the highlight of my hunting career. Be sure to join the Wild Sheep Federation's <1 Club just so you can get kicked out!

WOW that is truly awesome! Start saving for the life sized mount. I didn't even know Nebraska had sheep. That will be a great trip for you and your son. And worth your buddies dime to experience it as well. Congrats

I taught and coached football and track for 8 years in Crawford. Would do fencing for the ranchers and farmers around there during the summer and would run into Bighorns when I was out doing that. Loved my time teaching in that town. Great people and one of the most beautiful areas of Nebraska. Good luck on the hunt!

I have hunted around Crawford for deer a few years ago... hunted the Fort and The govt. pastures behind the Fort. Most people don't know Nebraska has such a beautiful landscape like the Pine Ridge..... kinda like the Niobrara river valley.... BEAUTIFUL!!!
