Thanks guys..... the ram is going to be on my cabin wall. And yes Joseph, Bighorn sheep are native to Nebraska ( NW Corner)but were wiped out in the 1860s. Recent efforts with re-introduced sheep in the 1980s or 1990s established a breeding herd (now several herds) in the NW part of the state. If memory serves me right I think some sheep were trapped and taken to Nebraska from your area ( BC ). Recently Nebraska traded a bunch of wild turkeys to Montana for some bighorn sheep. Again I hope my memory is right and hope I am citing correct facts. The sheep seem to be doing great but bouts with pneumonia hold the numbers down. Also a established mountain lion population in that part of the state adds to the frustration of re-establishment of sheep in their native range.
