For those of us that are 65 or older and havn't already got your life time pass to all our National Parks, now is the time to do it. The current lifetime pass is $10.00 which allows you free entrance to all NP's. It is slated to increase to $80.00 this fall.

If your over 65, get it now!

You can get them once you turn 62. At least that is when I picked mine up. You can't be 61 and 11 months but 62.

I got mine at 62. Free day pass and 1/2 price overnight camping at any National Forest campground....You're right Cowboy, it was $10.00. $80.00 soon? That's quite a hike for fixed income seniors.....oh well...

If that's the case, don't lose it because it costs the same to replace it. They have no way of tracking them. Got mine on my birthday when I turned 62.

Also if you are married have your wife get one also.

That way if you are traveling with two vehicles you can drive one and your wife can get into the other one and get that one in also.

As for the $80 if you go to a NP often it is still a steal at that price. Not as good as $10 but it is better than paying the entrance fees every time that you go.

ain't never been to a national park.never saw the point when there is so much public for free, where you can get away from the crowds. no sense starting now.

After I purchased mine I just took a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park, and while it was crowded it was a nice drive. And on that trip the pass paid for itself.

There are a lot of other parks just like that. You can drive from one end of them to the other, you just have to put up with the traffic. Also if you go during the off season usually the traffic isn't to bad either.

No Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, etc? You're missing a lot IMO.
nope. have lived within a few hours of yellowstone all my life and never been. never even wanted to,with millions of acres of public to play in. besides I have my next life to do such things should I ever feel the desire to

I tell everyone they should visit Yellowstone, the first and best national park. To me, it's a magical place, I just go outside the summer season.

I got my senior lifetime pass this year and am getting my wife's today before it goes up. Thanks for the reminder.
