NASCAR Race at the LA Coliseum

Just got back from a great trip to southern California for the first ever NASCAR race at the LA Coliseum. Went with a life long friend and his 2 sons. My friend and I went to our first race together in 1959 and have been to quite a few over the years.

Yep Logano won. It was a hoot, especially with my friends. Drank a few brewskis and yelled a lot.

Hah. Watched all of it and practice and qualifying. Looked like a blast. Jealous of the weather and the seats!

It's hard to imagine how loud it was. I wore my custom shooting ear plugs and still hear the roar of the cars.

looks like there was a lot of empty seats. was it that empty at the start of the race?

I believe they said attendance was 58,000. Not bad for an exhibition race!

We got there at 10:00 am for the heat races. The main started at 3:00. A lot of people didn't show up for the early stuff. It was crowded. I was going to buy a hat and a T shirt, but they were waiting in line for over an hour. Luckily, the beer line was a lot smaller and faster! LOL
