It took me three years to draw a tag in 78 in Colorado and I am going on my first mule deer hunt on Saturday the 18th. I have been preparing for several months and it is almost here. I have been double and triple checking my gear and trying to get ready to go. I can hardly wait to get into the mountains and hopefully find some deer.

Ranch hand , I hope you have a great hunt. I leave the 22nd for Montana's opener then off the Colorado for the3rd rifle opener, then back to Montana.

Good luck guys. I'm taking the Mrs. on her first mule deer hunt Saturday, black powder style. Been going thru all of our gear. I'm excited that she's excited to hunt. She spent a lot of hours on the range firing the muzzleloader. I'm proud of her progress. Now I hope we see a few bucks. I never thought that her tagging along on a turkey hunt would spark her interest in hunting. Have greats hunts.

I have everything ready to go, and I have some candy packed. I am like a little kid when it comes to candy. I can hardly wait to get on the road in the morning.

Truck is packed. Ready to roll in the morning. Probably won't sleep tonight. Ahhhh! It all boils down to this. The hunts go so fast. Well, the prep work was very enjoyable also.
