Rolling into the new year it is time to review the point situations and create future hunt plans. This year has me focused utilizing my 9 nonresident deer points in WY. I am leaning towards hunting units with more rolling hills and sagebrush over the high elevations as my wife has a pre-existing lung condition that limits how much time we spend at higher elevation. With the research that I have conducted so far I feel that I have been narrowing it down to units 37 & 47 which I have good odds of drawing utilizing the special draw. I have been able to find some information for 37, but very limited on 47.
My goal is to spend a full week hunting and we are not afraid of putting on miles walking to where we need to be, with hopes of having a fair chance at a 160" deer.
Is anyone willing to share some general advice on these units, or suggest another unit that I have overlooked? I will also be reaching out to the WY game and fish department to gather more information as well.
I greatly appreciate any feedback and tips!
