Leaving this AM for 4th season in unit 70. Its only 70 miles from my place, so we will set up camp today and spend tomorrow scouting around. 3rd season closed yesterday and 4th season open Wed. I was there a week ago scouting, had a storm since then, so will see if any deer have moved in. Only 40 tags so there won't be too many deer hunters there, but will see some elk hunters for sure. My hunting buddy from Calif is here to go with me. No tag for him, but he will be a big help....another set of eyes.

Until it get home.........................

Good Luck CC! I'm doing the same hunt next year, I can't wait to hear your report.

Three of my buddies and I were out in Montana last week chasing Mule deer. Considering none of us had never been there before, I think we did pretty good for ourselves. One whitetail and three muleys. They weren't monsters by any means but still trophies to us. It was just an unbelievable experience from meeting Jim Burnworth at a café the first day we were there to tagging out on the last day and everything in between. Needless to say, we'll be back.

Looks like fun!! thats how i measure success, amount of fun and adventure. Big racks are nice too. what area were you in?? I hunt out there too and maybe i can point you in another direction next year to get into some more mature deer.
