My father and I just got a lease near the town of Paducah, Tx in the panhandle. The owner says there are good numbers of both whitetail and mulies. Has anyone of the board hunted in the general area and what were your experiences?

I've hunted the Matador WMA a few miles north of Paducah. Nice area with plenty of whitetails and mule deer.

My thread finally got a hit! hahaha.

Thanks for the reply. Did yall primarily rifle hunt or bow hunt?
Ya'll spot and stalked the whole time I'm assuming...

We did spot and stalk. First time was a bow hunt and last year was rifle ... both whitetail / hog only. Shot a doe and hog with the rifle.

I see a lot of activity in the area off another board and actually have a friend who hunts SW of Childress. Quality and density will be property specific and population will favor the WTs.

Could stand for water trough up in that country since seems to have been in drought for a while.

haha. yeah I missed that one big time. I think I'm just going to carry my rifle with me on my horse while we're quail hunting and if a big mulie comes cruising by I'll take him.
