I ended up finding a six point after passing on seemingly endless smaller bulls. He isn't quite the monster I was hoping for, but a fine bull nonetheless.

It was a great season, and I simply can't wait for next year!

What year did that area burn?
There have been many burns that ran into each other there. I am not sure which year this particular burn was, but the area burned in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2008, and 2010.

The biggest acreage happened in 2000, and the best hunting was the following year. The worst part about hunting the burns is trying to keep the deadfall off the trails.

Thanks for the kind words!

Edelweiss,

The packsaddles are Deckers. The front one is the "classic" bar design, while the back one is "improved." I much prefer classic, as you can get the load higher.

I already told you nice bull, but that really is a nice bull Matt! Sure is neat country isn't it!! Gets treacherous in the wind after a short few years when hunting though! Every time I hear a tree crack or pop it makes me jump and look around.
