We are moving from Tucson. I have to admit I have never shoveled a driveway or mowed a lawn... so this will be quite a change for us. I hope we can survive the winter. Flag is awesome one of my favorite places in AZ.

Compared to Tuscon, winter may be brutal, but compared to other places in the country, winters are actually pretty mild. The wind takes some getting used to. One day I hunted elk in January and the high was almost 50. That's not abnormal. It may also snow in July.

Eh not really. They are pretty good eating when they are a couple of pounds. Fun to catch though. We would set our cots up and just go to sleep and let our bait runners wake us up.

Flat heads are great to eat even large ones. The cheek meat is awesome. We caught many in East Texas and even the 40 + pounders tasted great.

Yeah I think it has a lot to do with what they are eating. We cut away all the dark meat and tried different ways of cooking it and it turned out ok. Just not great... but like the saying goes everything is better in Texas even the flatheads! Haha

I agree on probably what they are eating affects the meat. The flatheads we used to catch were from a river so they had good current to swim and great forage to feed on. I bet those Arizona flatheads might get a little bugger.
