ill pass it on. after we were at the truck, all unloaded, we were talking and I looked behind him on the hill behind us in the pic with the two of us and there was a huge flipping bull that hit the skyline. haha isn't that how it goes?! as was said by a passer byer last night, the best bull moose is the one quartered up and in the back of the truck. was a fun pack out.

my legs are deff feeling it today. the hard part was getting on my feet after loading pack, but once up it was all down hill, not to steep so wasn't that bad. legs are letting me know they had a rough work out though.

Lyle, your the man! oh, and ill mention.... this guy knows how to break down an animal! heading up there I didn't know what to expect so I assumed there would be a untouched dead bull moose laying in some thick nasty crap. not the case at all, as I pulled in near his truck I see this guy with a quarter thrown over his shoulder, like Hercules himself, busting through waist high sagebrush. get to his truck and flops it down. we get to kill site and he had that moose gutted and quartered like a pro. I cant even imagine breaking down a moose by my self, elk are hard enough. Congrats again! im jellous, but happy for you.

Awesome job Lyle. Not sure how you lucked up with a helpful guy like Ivory but sounds like it worked out for both of you. Ivory obviously is a good dude! Don't know the man personally but from what I can tell he is a stand up kind of guy. Glad he was there to help and also glad he introduced you to this forum. This is a great forum with a lot of guys just like Ivory. Once again congrats on a great bull!
Ivory we got to get you down this way for some fishing. Me and Dan talked about it on our hunt. Maybe when the tarpon are in you can break away. Heck as hard as you work I'm sure Dan Finsandtines could use another deckhand. Lol. You can cut bait and clean the boat and me and Dan will catch all the fish...lol. :;)

haha, thanks! i would love to catch some tarpon, I keep catching big common carp and pretending its a giant tarpon! Lyle and I met over this forum. its what I like best about this forum! I know a lot of guys get help via this forum with everything between broken down rigs, hunting spots, hauling game and list goes on. Eastman's has done well connecting like minded individuals. hell I remember Andrew, (hardstalk) offering up a rangefinder after I mentioned I had lost mine! where else do you get that?

Huge thanks to ivorytip for helping. I was making some progress getting the meat taken care of but the pack out was going to break me down so might need to bone out the hind quarters adding more time to the process. Would have been well after dark on my own. With ivory tip's generous help the moose was cut up and in the truck before the sun set!
Ivorytip is good people for sure! He made the trip over to elk hunt for a few days with me this September, when I told him I was headed up solo. Fun dude to hunt with, and sure can work over some elk calls! Wish I coulda killed a bull so he coulda got a little more usage out of that pack frame.

Congrats on a great moose!

Wow...congratulations. I'm starting to put in for a draw this year and we'll see how that goes. Nice to see pics so I learn something for when my time comes.

There he is. Welcome back.
You know you're invited. Hell I invited you fly fishing and you didn't show. Guess I figured you would ditch me again. Go ahead and tell the wife you're headed to Florida. Like they use to say about John Riggins..."crank up that diesel". Come on!
