Thanks to those folks on this forum who gave me advise on bear hunting NW Montana. I shot this big cinnamon/chocolate boar last night. The warden said he estimated the weight near 300 lbs. and over 6 feet. In over 20 years as a warden, he said this was one to the nicest & largest bears he has seen in the area (plus color phased). The boar had his winter fur and not a single rub on him. It will make a great rug!
Caping him out in the dark in grizzly country was the only downside. But, because daytime highs were near 80, I didn't want the cape to slip.
