OK, a short story. Spotted him from 2 miles away with my new spotting scope (already payed for itself in my opinion) feeding by himself along a prairie creek bottom. I then covered the 2 miles in record time. He was still in exact same spot when I got to him. Snuck to within 20 yards and was shaking so bad I couldn't get a reading from my range finder on him. I couldn't get a clear shot as his body was behind a bush so I had to sit and watch him feed for 15 minutes until he cleared the brush at 40 yards. I put a Muzzy square through his heart, 30 yard recovery in the cat-tails. My best buck ever. Put an exclamation point on a great season as I had arrowed a nice Elk 2 days earlier(check out the elk forum). I'm grateful for the 2 great critters I got but I am kinda bummed that its all over till next year. I'm sure I'll get lots of sympathy!
