Montana Elk

Anyone know some good spots for a DIY Elk hunt this year? Prefer southeastern parts of the state as its close to where we will start from.

I believe everything in the SE part is draw for elk, along with most of eastern MT. I think you have to get west of Billings to find any general units, but not totally positive on that.

Southwest Montana has some great public land access with good opportunity at harvesting an elk. It's very rugged country with a fair amount of pressure.

I'd go west. In my opinion, its prettier country, and also more general units. But not sure if any of that matters to you.

Hmm...I would hunt where there are elk.
