Hi, I'm looking to purchase a pack/frame system just for packing out meat. I plan on boning the meat out but im not sure if the styles of packs matter if you hauling a quarter of meat boned or whole. What a middle of the road pack that would do either?
Thanks

I love my Eberlestock JP9 Blue Widow! They also have so many accessories you can add to the pack to fit your needs. Ive had mine 7 years, elk hunts, deer, sheep, and this year a sheep and mountain goat hunt on the books. Gear I know will stand up to whatever I can dish out. Expensive only stings once, cheep just keeps on stinging!!!

If you are looking for just a meat hauler, look at the kelty or the cabelas guide frame. if you are hauling for a day or 2 and then get to rest your bones, these frames are fine. If you are hauling for clients 20x/yr and need to perform everyday, then look at the high end frames like a kifaru duplex with a cargo panel or the Stone Glacier minimalist setup.

thanks everybody or the help. I don't want to buy several frames and i like the idea of being able to expand it in the future.

I use my old Kelty I've had for years. Just pack meat with it, don't use it much anymore other than that.

If you are hunting far away form camp I would get a pack that can be used as a day pack an will expand into a bigger pack so you are not having to go back to camp to get a meat pack an wasting a trip to camp empty i use eberlesock j34 pack its around 6.5 to 7 pounds empty an expands into more packing ability than I can pack it also has buckles an straps to pull the load closer to your back so its not flopping around

Exo mountain gear. ..worth every penny for a long term pack...if u don't care about backpack hunting. .probably not what you need, but if that's in your future they are a great pack for trips and meat hauls
I want the 2015 exo 3500 bad! Wow they are expensive though. Hard to find anyone to say anything bad about them. Same can be said for Kifaru and Stone Glacier too.

I just bought the eberlestock F1 mainframe for this upcoming hunting season. What I love about it so far is how lightweight it is, I can attach my day pack to the back which saved me from buying another pack and even if I carry eat I can adjust the straps to put the meat between frame and my day pack. It works great for me and after this hunting season I'll let you know how it feels to pack out meat....hopefully!!
