Mastercraft tires

Time to get new tires, I usually go with Les Schwab's out here because their service has been really great. I was looking at the Toyo's but holy crap they are pricey!
At the budget I have, I was looking at the Mastercraft Courser MXT. Never heard of them before, of course the sales guy said they were perfect for me, but I'd like to hear from others.......

So, anybody running them? I am also looking at the Goodyear Duratrac's.

Oh, they are going on a F150, Lt265-70-17, or LT285-70-17s.

Thanks
RJ

I had a couple Mastercraft tires on a trailer. I bought them used over 10 years ago I think. They finally gave up on me last year due to old age and wearing out. They were good tires and I wouldnt hesitate to get another set of them.

les schwab generally sells crap quality low tires from china at a high price and backs them up with there service,,I would recommend bfg tires from Americas/discount tire.better tire at a better price than schwabs..Also I will never go to shwabs until they open up teeders road that they shut down in the ochoco's over a 300 foot easement issue with the blm.

We bought the Mastercraft mud terrain for our truck in the 35's and they are a good tire. We put them on at the end of January and they do good both in the snow and mud. Only downside is they are very heavy so you will loose some milage. I would deffenitly buy another set again, I also have owned a set of the toyo all-terrain 2s which are around the same price and they also work really well. Seems like every couple months toyos Jump another 200 bucks!

I run Toyos. I've tried many others but keep returning to Toyo. After the last set of tires and had a bow out with no cell service in a mule deer hunt I put in a new set of Toyo MT and I swear I'll never switch to another brand. Ya they are spendy but they have never let me down and well worth the $$$

As soon as the crappy goodyears burn off my new truck, I'll go right back to Michelin's. They're expensive, but when the last 80,000+ on a truck, they're worth it.

I also by the Michelin the model I buy is MS2. Have got as much as 110,000 miles on one set the least I've ever got was 85,000. Got a new set a year ago on my personal truck, 15,000 miles in on these and they still measure basically brand new. The pair I have on my work truck has about 50,000 on them right now and think I might get 100k out of these. Generally only cost about $75 more a tire than the cheaper tires that you may get 40k on. I put around 50k total a year on 2 different trucks.

I run Toyo AT's, 10 ply. Getting 80k+ out of them with no off road issues and plenty of rough off road use. Put Goodyear DurcTrac's on one rig too, great tire, but as has been mentioned, keep em rotated or you will have a bunch of noise. The new Toyo AT II's, in 10 ply, are likely to be my next new set. Even on a small truck, like a ranger, I go with 10 ply's, and a strong side wall design, if rocky off road use is in the plan. I think that, more than tread pattern is how to avoid flats.

You would be surprised how many "American" name brand tires are made in china.
I do know the BFG's on my truck are made in USA. They are a bit pricey but I have never had a problem.

Been running 31" Mastercraft Courser MT on my '76 Chevy stepside for 4 years. This truck, when used, is 99% in the dirt, and these tires still look new. I would say I average 1-2 thousand miles each hunting season when staying close to home. The rubber of the lugs is a little softer then most tires, seems to help in the elements I hunt of NE NV. I would not hesitate to get another set.

Cooper, master craft or Goodyear for me. I have run all three and current am running the cooper st max tires. I bought them over the Goodyear duratrac.

I've ran the michelins before, too much of a road tire for me. Only if it was a daily driver and only if I was driving a lot would I use them again.

I just bring tire chains to make up for the lack tread if it gets ugly. Well over half the time I don't need chains, and the MS2 do just fine.
