Can anyone give me their input on these two on comfort and support? Il be heading to Wyoming in September on a pack hunt for mule deer. We got drawn 3 years ago for this same hunt that il be goin on this year and I took a brand new pair of Cabelas hiking boots and after the hunt they looked like I had worn them for a year and the rubber on the toe was peeling off after the 3rd day. Needless to say the boots I had didn't give me any support climbing and hiking and had no support on the sole. I read some great reviews from everyone on the Lowa Tibet GTX boot on here but was wondering if anyone had any experience using the Hi version of these, trying to decide which ones to order, and any information would be greatly appreciated, thank yall!

I've got the shorter version and can't really help on the taller boot. I look for taller boots because my calf muscles are pretty big and fairly long, so I have to have shorter boots to be comfortable. I'm betting the only difference is the height which will help with some stability, but I've never had trouble with the shorter version and stability. Either one will be a good boot if your foot fits them right.

I have the shorter version too and they are plenty tall enough for me. I dont think I would like anything taller but it definitely wouldn't hurt to try them on.

another vote for the regular height Tibets GTX. These give me plenty of ankle support on steep grades. I replace the Lowa insoles with Spenco insoles and that makes a difference for me. The insoles that come with the boots are not great. A little more cushion really helps after a long day on your feet going over demanding terrain.

Regular tibets here too. Have heard reports of guys having the high boots cut into their calf muscle on long hauls.

Thanks

I also have the regular tibets. I had a pair of high rocky boots and they were very uncomfortable on the calf during high activity. Not sure if the calf muscle is expanding, retaining water or what but the boots would seem to get tighter and tighter on the calf muscle to the point I would only tie them half way up.

Thanks again for the comments guys, I appreciate it! And tdcour I jus recently moved and forgot my location still said "Corsicana" lol, I work for the USDA-NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) and they jus moved me to Vernon, which is right on the red river. Really cool country here and lots of whitetail, big ones too! A UPS truck hit a deer last year about a mile from my house, he's hangin in the courthouse now, he scored 223", free range.

Unfortunately I didn't get drawn for my unit in Wyoming, I was going to be hunting with Non Typical Outfitters, we went 3 years ago with Rob Wiley and them and it was the best hunt if ever been on and my chances were high to get drawn this year but guess Itl be next year, still going to make a trip to Colorado though and do some fly fishin so this will give me a little more time to get some new gear in time for next September, but thanks again guys, always appreciate yalls info and advice! Good luck to everyone who got drawn this year!
