Ok, I know there is a boot section but I was gonna talk boots for us Nevada hunters. I have had Kenetrek, Cabelas, and a few others in the past. I bought a pair of the Crispi Idaho's three years ago and I think they are the best thing that's ever happened to me. I have this burning desire to try Lowa's since they are so reputable but I'm not sure if I can talk myself into getting away from the Crispi's.

Anyone try both these brands? If so what's your opinion?

I don't think Lowas are as good as Crispis. I have had 3 pairs of Lowas. Kennetreks (two pairs)are higher quality than Lowas. Crispi does not come in my size(15).

Lowa Zephyr, sucked up water like a sponge.
Lowa Renegade, leaked, both pair. Call me a sucker.
Lowa Cevedale Pro, couldn't have leaked faster if I had poked them with an ice pick in the parking lot.

To be impartial:
Danner Pronghorn, leaked standing in mowed grass.
Rocky Boots, actually poured water out of them.
Merril Moab, leaked almost instantly.
Vasque breeze, leaked the first time they saw moisture.
Salomon Quest 4D, leaked after maybe 50 soft miles.

Hanwag Alaska, TBD as they haven't been outside yet. I give them a .05% chance at not leaking.

Ha ha! That's not good!

WB...maybe it's your feet and they just sweat profusely in boots ;)

I've heard good things about zamberlands too. Any experience with those.
Yes, I had a pair. Their biggest size was a little too small for me. After a couple years I gave them to my brother. Good boots. Still waterproof after 6 or 7 years.

My Lowas and Kennetreks stayed watertight for years.

I have a pair of Asolos now. Good boots so far.

I have two pairs of Lowa. I ran them for about 4 years and loved them. Then for whatever reason they started to hurt my feet. I bought a pair of Crispi's and they are now my favorite. I've had them for about 3 years and they are all I wear now. I will wear the Lowa Tibets in the summer but the Sheep Hunters won't ever come off the shelf.

If the Crispi works good for you why change? I know I don't have plans to change anytime soon.

I personally love Asolo for early to later fall. Winter I'm running Mendels, took some insole work but really love them. Haven't had any leak problems. My last pair of Asolo Fugitives went 2 years and looked like a dog chewed them up but still didn't leak.
