High 120's gross, MAYBE 130. Not quite a booner but a great archery buck. The highest scoring of any of the bucks in the pictures I posted on page 1 went 126 gross... just for reference.

Nice bucks guys.......

Here's my hunting partner's CA wilderness Columbian Blacktail. It was the state record (archery) for some time.......now sits as the #2 in the Golden State. Official P&Y score is 151 0/8" net (grossed just over 160"):

Here is my 2010 Blacktail. Looking dead on in the dark timber I figured he was a 4x4 given the white face and huge body....just a big old fork with a broken horn. Still one of the largest bodied bucks I've killed.

This big guy kept me going all season. He was taken by the only other guy allowed to hunt this particular ranch. Darn my luck.

Nice set of mounts Timberstalker. I like the decoration style in your home :).
Me too! Unfortunately, my wife doesn't so I have to rotate them in one at a time.

Very nice bucks, guys! I am the opposite of you, Timberstalker, I hope to someday get a blacktail like one of yours!

One at a time WHAT!! Where do you put your mounts when not on display? My wife told me when we bought our house, only one room can have animals in it. So I chose the biggest! Now she has opened it up to the whole house so I don't have to worry.

My wife puts up with plenty, so I don't throw a fit over this deal. I have some in the garage, the barn, my office, my folks' place, ...
Yes she does! I see how much gidas you put into hunting and toys. I guess it is all a trade off. I get limited days in the field, mostly due to youngsters, but it is all worth it. But I do get to go on one hunt a year and apply everywhere. I get new toys now and then also.

Bitterroot, in Oregon a good blacktail is easier to get than a good Muley IMO. I need to start looking at other states I believe. I have only hunted mule deer in Oregon 3 times and have been applying for tags for 18 years, I am due next year to try again, you can't get one if you can't go! Blacktail are OTC

I think your right about us having more quality blacktails than muleys but there are not many people with a collection like yours. Pretty impressive!

I tell you what, TS, maybe we could trade favors sometime, then. Non-res in MT ain't cheap, but neither is 3 tags in 18 years in your home state!

California is the same way. It can be very hard to draw a tag in a mule deer area. There are areas you can get a mulie/blacktail hybrid that are easy to draw.

This doesn't mean big blacktail are easy to come by. Extremely nocturnal and they bed down in brush that's 10 ft tall. This is why I love hunting them so much!

Not saying big mulies are easy to come by either.
