I have alate archery tag for the ruby mountains and I am trying to figure the best days to go. The season goes from nov. 10-20, I can work it out to leave on the 8th and scout a day and a half then hunt 5 days, or I can leave on the 13 and hunt for 6 days. Obviously weather plays a big part in this hunt and I am wondering if this difference of a few days will really matter. Thanks for the help.

Leave the 8th and come home when you fill your tag or the season ends. Never let work get in the way of a good hunting trip:D

MM, my wife would call you a bad influence, i would call you a good mentor lol! Nvdeerslayer, i appreciatte that, i hope you kill a monster!

I checked the moon phase for that time as well and it would be better for the last six days so thats when i will probably be going.

More days huting is always better. Scouting isn't going to do you a lot of good when the animals have already been pressured from archery, muzzleloader, early and late rifle seasons. The late rifle season ends on the 8th. I think you should hunt as late in the season
as possible and hope for lots of snow.

I will be happy to be out of this horrid city and in the mountains. If I get a deer it'll be bonus. Yes I have a full moon in the middle of my hunt but not a lot I can do about it. Just hunt!!! And hope for lots of early snow!!! hahaha

When I saw that full moon I thought of your hunt, thats a bummer but sometimes you can't help how the cards fall. Right now I am planning on hunting from the 14th to the 20th with a good moon phase. Like you said hopefully the tops get some good weather.

I've got a late season rifle deer tag so hopefully the last week of season will bring some weather. I've had this tag several times and it's not too often that we get much snow other than the very tops of the peaks but it's usually pretty cold.
I will keep my fingers crossed!

I appreciatte the offer MM, but that might make things worse! I got a good one though, last year i was in nevada on our one year wedding anniversary. I tried to explain how a fall wedding was a bad idea but she didnt complain once. I got 10x more flack from my family. Im getting so pumped for november!

Thats funny. Back when my wife and I got married she planned on getting married on September 1st. Well most of you
know that is opening day of dove season. I explained to her that an aniversary on that day would be a sore spot for the resst of our lives.
It must have worked because we just had our 30th aniversary!
