Though I have been an Eastman's follower for years I am new to the forum and forums as such are rather new to me at 61 years old. I moved to MT over 38 years ago for its wildernesses and big game hunting. Much has changed in my 38 years of pursuing big game, horse packing, and wilderness adventure and not so much for the good although I have witnessed tremendous growth in elk populations prior to the wolf. I am grieved at what that foolish idea has brought about.
What is always good is that God's creation is beyond description or comprehension and my ventures into Montana's wilderness has been amongst my life's greatest experiences! The greatest joy is getting to experience it with friends and family.
My youngest son has become the best hunting partner I have had and this year he has us booked for a first - a fly-in caribou hunt to the Brooks Range in Alaska. In addition he just learned that he has drawn a coveted moose permit in Montana! Something I have been trying for years to get and been unsuccessful to date.
I hope some of you are heading into as great a hunting season as I am anticipating!
