For summer break I am taking my kids to Lake Powell for Striper fishing in mid/late June. We will be camping at Wahweap and running up the lake each morning. I fished it a couple years ago in April and I had one of my best days ever fishing (35 stripers and a walleye on my own). I was fishing cut anchovies. If anyone has some pointers I'd appreciate it.

I was just there on a houseboat for 5 days. The stripers were hitting jigs and anchovies. The best was a white headed jig with a yellow body and a piece of anchovy on it. The large mouths were also hitting dark purple worms.

I guess waterdogs are no longer available at lake Powell. Stripers can be fished like tuna troll till you get hit then chum with cut bait or just chum with cut bait or cat food i like big plugs that look like trout

Cut anchovies always work well, lots of oil bleeding out. When you find the fish, they usually will grab anything thrown at them.

Don't forget the tortillas, best fish tacos ever!! Good luck.
