My Kuiu gaiters are falling apart as well, lost the snaps on both sides and the clip on one. Don't really have a problem with the performance of them despite missing the hardware

That sucks, been using my Kuiu gaiters for 3 years now with no problems. Good to know what I need to inspect regularly, thank you Miss Jordan.

Brianboh, in what way?
The straps that go under the boot are falling apart at the seam as well as the metal piece that attaches to the shoestring. Both mine and my buddies are. Don't get me wrong I still like them but not sure they are taking the abuse that the mountains are giving them.

Good information thanks....guess I have been fortunate so far as I haven't had any issues with them yet.

I have used the kenetrek's for about 4 years now and they are awesome no troubles. This is the first pair I have owned so I have nothing to compare them to. But it sounds like the guys here have some good feed back. I think in this category you get what you pay for so might want the higher end brands. Hope that helps.

I prefer the Sitka gaiters. I just wish they had a solid color. The zipper is much easier to get on. I have the Kuiu because I hate non matching camo.

I should also mention that a bunch of the guys here have used the Kenetrek's and really like them as well.

Just an FYI Kenetrek make two styles of gaiters. Only the camo patters are quiet, the solids are not. I just went though this and ordered the solids expecting to get the quiet ones they advertise and they are not quiet. I called Kenetrek and they said only camo patterns are their "hunting" gaiters, the solids are "mountain" gaiters, If you want quiet, you have to go with camo.

I noticed my kuiu's has a lot of thread coming out today while I was sitting on a yote set up. threads holding the Velcro in place. I will say this though, they have been through hell and back. lots and lots of hard miles on them. they've crushed through a lot of deep crusty snow this winter too. I have enjoyed them.

Using Kenetrek gaiters for the past 4 seasons. They work great and are holding up well. Very quite. I would buy them again.
