What about for rain gear only? i currently have almost all first line gear except the rain gear? I am planning on purchasing new rain gear this year and am torn between the chugach and the storm tight. i do understand both are part of a layering system which i have just looking for the thought on the rain gear only!

Last summer/fall was as wet as ive heard of and seen in western Wyoming. .i was given the stormtight series to use. .it's light as hell for rain gear, and i immediately thought it would bleed through on pressure points...the gear blew me away in how it handled extreme rain. .when i expected it to bleed through it never did. .i will always support first lite because i have since their inception in 07'.. but I'm not afraid to support any gear that handles well. .the stormtight series blew me away for its light weight and effectiveness. Kuiu is a great company as is first lite...as consumers we are lucky to have companies like that competing to be better than one another because we benefit!

OK thanks, what do you think about the kanab pants are they fairly durable? i do a lot of bushwhacking and need them to be able to take a beating. Also how does First lite tops hold up being that there merino wool do they tear or rib at all?
I got a pair of the Kanabs for my Nevada elk hunt this year. They were great for lots of different reasons, but as far as durability, I'll just say that I ended up with two fairly substantial tears from bushwhacking and stepping over windfalls in just one hunting trip. I still love the pats but that was frustrating for sure.

New gear should be available around june 15th...They have some awesome new stuff coming up this year. The puffy vest as already mentioned is something i am excited for..also have a few new gloves, hats, and the new corrugated guide pants are pretty sweet. got to check them out, really like the water resistant aspect of them and lightweight. They are announcing their womens line-up currently. Also, anyone who had the sanctuary series jacket for stand hunting or any late season hunts..they are doing a sanctuary bib similar to the north branch, which will be awesome for the cold hunting. . They have made some changes to the Kanab in terms of making them last longer and more comfortable in fit. They have been working hard and should be another great year of gear.

Man, I find it hard to believe they could make the kanab much better.

I wish they had a heavier kanab pant for later hunting. Feels a little light for elk rifle hunt. I don't much like the north branch material. Would rather have the wool still but heavier.
