I used the Outdoor Edge I got for renewing an Eastmans subscription for the first time on my buddy's muley this fall. I guess I'm just to attached to my old fixed blades for butchering work. The Outdoor edge worked fine, no real issues I just seem to prefer a 4" fixed blade I can put a little more pressure on and that has a little more belly. I keep going back to the Camillus Bushcrafter like I carry daily on the ranch. Maybe the familiarity with it is why I like it so much I don't know. I keep a Victorinox steel at camp or in the vehicle to touch it up on after processing a critter. After helping on his deer with the Oudoor edge I packed my Camillus the next day. I did my most of my muley with it and after 5 strokes on each side on the steel it shaved hair again.
I too screwed up a knife tip on the worksharp. I rounded the tip on my original Camillus Bushcrafter. I use it on the ranch now and beat it up, bought a new one for hunting. I actually have 3 now, for work/hunting/whenever I lose one. For caping the head out I still like the Havalon best, but that is a job done back at camp or home with pliers to change blades handy.
