Kifaru 4man tipi

Just curious on everyones thoughts of a Kifaru 4man tipi for backcountry hunting? weight? packability? quality?

Kifaru makes very tough gear. I personally use floorless shelters all the time here.

For the size you can't beat it weight wise 5lb 5oz and it is damn near bomb proof. Can't go wrong with anything Kifaru

I got mine in 2007 and it works great. I do have the 4 man. which would actually be 4 kids. 3 grown men will not fit. unless they are around 5 feet tall. 2 people it works awesome. I mainly use mine, solo on bike pack trips. I can lay in my sleeping bag and get a fire going in the stove. Basically laying in my sleeping bag I get the woodstove going, than get my camp stove going for coffee and wake up, drinking coffee by the wood stove. However I am 6' 1 and can't really stand up in the tent. Not the best tent for a base camp, it is hard to dry stuff out with such a small stove and.

I traded in my 4 man for a Supertarp and a 8 man. If I can't stand up in it, it will weigh 1# like the Supertarp. 4 man was ok for two guys, 8 man is a backcountry palace for two with not much of a weight penalty.
