Kids with Bows

Already a good season, the two youngest boys, 13 and 16 got their elk. Their uncle passed on a 5x5 at 20 yds with a goal of a 6x6. They are trying to fill 100% tags, three to go. DIY public land.
Next hunt will be my grandson in late December unit 16c New Mexico and he will be trying for a trophy bull with rifle. DIY public land.

This time its a 6 x 7. Now only one to go and he has already passed on a 5 x 5. Maybe tomorrow. Another bull has been located.

Kids uncle is now hunting by his lonesome. I talked with him today and he tells me the elk are getting vocal, the mountains are cooling off and the aspens are turning to their beautiful yellow. He has worked two shooter bulls but has not had a chance to fire an arrow. Still hunting.
