Will be headed to the Mesa Colorado area for a few days at the end of June. My two kids will be with me, 13 and 11. I know Moab Utah isn't to far but what else in that area would be neat to check out?

I guess depending on the route you might be able to hit Fossil Butte and Dinosaur National Monument on the way South. They both have kids programs. The sometimes have digs to go on that time of year if you time it right or have time. I am a little bit of a nerd, so maybe not super interesting to others or kids, but I thought they were pretty cool.

All kinds of fun on your route. There is a dinosaur museum in Price on the US 6 route. You can also hit the Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction. You can access it from Fruita off of exit 18 on I-70. If you have a couple of days then Moab would be a great place to pull through. Between Arches and Canyon Lands National Parks you'll have a full couple of days of adventure. I can tell you of all kinds of fun places in the Utah San Rafel area where Butch Cassidy used to run but that would take even more time.

The northern route along HWY 40 has some fun things also but not as many. Dinosaur National Monument on the Utah/Colorado border would be fun for kids.

Hot Springs: Lava Hot Springs in Idaho, never been there, but I believe they have water slides and stuff.

If you are in SLC, go to Burger Bar in Roy, Utah. Old style burger joint with great shakes and burgers, including burger made from game meat. It was featured on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives.

Milt's Stop and Eat is a super old fashioned burger diner in Moab.

Look online for indian ruins. We found some neat ones west of Blanding.

There are some fantastic movie theaters in SLC and the summer movie releases should be out.

I have always wanted to fish for trophy Kokanee in Flaming Gorge. Your timing would be about right I would think. That is when Kokanee get going here in Oregon.

Cabela's (SLC, Grand Junction)

Scheel's sporting goods in SLC (crazy big)

If you are willing to detour south, the striped bass fishing in Lake Powell should be off the charts in June, out of Page AZ or Bullfrog UT. That detour can include hiking in Bryce Canyon. The natural canyons in Bryce are unlike anything you've ever seen.

I have on my bucket list to do some of the slot canyon hikes in San Rafael Swell area; in summer I would plan it for mid week--hopefully not as crowded then.

There are over 300 lakes on the Grand Mesa with some really good fishing and there are hundreds of miles of ATV trails to explore. There are a few herds of Rocky Mountain bighorns and some Deserts within an hour or 2 of Mesa you could go look for pretty easy.
