Ivorytip,
I know that lump you are talking about! I tried on their Mountain Extremes at the Kenetrek booth during the Dallas safari club show last month. The fit was great, but I felt like there was a golf ball in there! My buddy on the other hand loved them. The rep changed out the standard insole for a lower arch support version and then they felt perfect for me.
Now, he instructed that I order the boots with the standard insole and wear them for 2-3 days to see if my feet adjust (I can't imagine they will, but I'll give it a try). The reason being that they have a lot of arch support by design. When we do a lot of walking with heavy loads, we can loses our arches (flatten our feet) if we don't have the proper arch support. So, these are designed to give us the support we need to prevent that issue. But, if after a few days they still felt uncomfortable, then he said to call them up and they would exchange the insoles for me to get what I needed, but he was really insistent that I give it a few days. Anyway, I just pulled the trigger on them a few days ago, and they should arrive on Friday. Congrats and good luck.
