In this day and age of the interweb and tons of info out there to pour through....."executing the basics to perfection" is a phrase I use at work with the men......and how I have taught my son and other newbies who go into the woods with me.
Keep It Simple Stupid holds true even more so today I believe.

I have a wall/cork board downstairs that is reserved for articles from magazines, newspapers etc. I read every article at least once a month and it grounds, reaffirms and teaches even during the off season while prepping. It has over 10 years of info on it. Most of them if not all is about the basics in the woods. As the years here in Colorado have gone by I can say the past 5 years or so I rarely find a article that is wall material.

EHJ # 159 Feb March 2017 page 62 has an article that's going up on the wall. Kudos Mr Brian Barney you cover the basics very well in an organized well thought out article. It flows well and contains some lifetime nuggets that 98% of the hunting population does not apply every year.

Although I only hunt mules every few years, there's a spot in my elk camp for you every year. Let me know and I'll send you the GPS coordinates. :)

Very true in deed. I've come to a realization in the past few years...life is simple. So keep it simple.

Three quotes drive me these days:

"Keep life simple"
"They aren't against you, they are for themselves..."
"Everything you see on TV, Medial, Interweb...is designed for one reason...to separate you from your money"
