My father's deer green scored by me at 178 and some change. It was a ND rifle tag which means it was pretty late in the season. It was -19 ambient temp the previous day my father got this buck. The day he shot it was terribly cold as well with high winds and lots of blowing snow.
We continued to bow hunt after the rifle tag was filled and I had my chance at a decent buck. It was following a few does off of posted land. The does had already walked past me when one of the does busted me. I stood up and drew back my bow and looked for the buck. There he stood about 30 yards away on the wrong side of the fence. It is a pretty helpless feeling being at full draw in close quarters with a conscious in that situation.....next year....
