Just installed my new Atlas Bipod on my H&S Precision .300 Win Mag. I have not used it yet, other than playing with it around my living room. My initial response is that it is incredibly engineered and machined to the standards of some of a highest quality aircraft parts. Obviously, the price also reflects the high quality engineering/machining.

When compared to the standard Harris Bipod there really is no comparison in quality of materials and assembly. However, like buying a Yeti cooler do you really need that kind of quality and subsequent expense?

BTW- I also own a Yeti cooler I bought with my Cabelas points ;)

Comments on the Atlas Bipod?? I will report when I get behind the gun next week!

Like with most things you get what you pay for. So you'll probably never have to buy another bi-pod again.
Now with the Yeti cooler I can't justify that kind of money since I have never hunted anywhere I'm more that an hour or two away from someplace to buy ice if needed and there are no bears where we hunt.

I could not justify the cost either that is why I used my Cabelas points. A bit less painful.

UPDATE-

Just got back from the range and the new Atlas bi-pod works excellent. I shot from the prone position and in a sitting position off the bench with it at ranges of 100, 200 and 300 yards. It was solid and comfortable. The accuracy results were exactly the same as shooting off the bench w/ sand bags.

Since the bi-pod is very expensive my expectations were very high. I was not disappointed and can now say I highly recommend this product if you need a lightweight, small bi-pod.
