I have used this forum to gather information for some time, but I now am seeing if anyone would possibly be willing to have a conversation about this area that has some experience. My old man was blessed with the opportunity to hunt 36A-2 in Idaho with a Rifle Oct 1. I have a few spots in mind to hike in and check out, we will be bivy hunting for 2-3 days depending on water conditions and sign. We are both avid whitetail hunters and last year was our first year chasing elk with a bow. After countless hours studying, practicing, and conditioning we were able to call in 5 bulls in 6 days in northern idaho last september. Unfortunately it never fell into place but incredible strides were made in the elk woods and I look forward to learning more this year with the same bow tag, followed by my old mans rifle tag. Thank you all for your time and the best of luck this year! Stay safe guys!

I'm presuming that you are talking about elk in Idaho. But listing the state helps out a lot.
