I agree CC. This form is for sharing ideas, experiences, knowlage, info, ect. Not calling people out, name calling, starting fights, proving your point and trying to convince everyone that your way is the only way. It goes back to if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all. Personally I liked OH but he was one of those people that is hard to like at times and while I am not happy to see him go I can certainly understand why it happened.

So is there usually snow during the 1st season, 2nd season, or is it a little early this year? I can't afford to go solo this year but I'm going to be coming your way next year. (with or without my hunting partners)

Snow seemed a little early this year, but you just never know. It wasn't a lot, but the timing was really great. It was there the PM before and IMHO really helped the hunting opening day of the first season. Colorado structures it's rifle seasons to be pretty short with the first rifle season being the longest. The later seasons go into mid November and you can usually expect snow and cold weather. Bottom line....if you like to hunt in snow, come late and you probably won't be disappointed. If you want warmer weather, come early. It's basically a crap shoot!

Thanks CC, I hunted that area for 12 years. Was pretty successful until 2010. The loggers had moved in and had the elk real scattered. The deer loved the new growth, but elk were few and far between. Haven't been since 2011.

I'm planning on heading back up there next year. I sure enjoy that country.
