Is he 200"? over 30"?

I agree with Scott. I've deer hunted Colorado for many years and I've underestimated several. It is always a pleasant surprise to walk up on a buck after the shot and find he was bigger than you thought. One thing about these big bucks is that they are generally loners and are sometimes hard to judge without other deer around them. The bodies and heads can be quite large. My partners and I have taken a few that would field dress over 300 lbs. I guess this to be the case with this big buck. Even after all these years, I still get fooled once in a while.

I did see the inside measurement but I forgot it as we were in high five mode and spirits were high I was too busy watching the tape read over 31" and that one stuck in my head lol. I do have other pics but they show too much of the background to put on the net and the kill shots I will not post as it was not my kill and not my place to put them up on line as I dont believe the hunter would want that so I will respect it. I did haul out the cape and antlers and his ears had to have been well over 25" wide he has real good mass that did not come out the best in the pics.

He did have a big jug head and well a big everything I guess. I should have measured his ears but again they had to have been over 25".

I did notice in the video he had lots of mass. I know it makes the tines look shorter on some bucks. This is an awesome deer for sure. I wouldn't post the pictures either with too much detail either. But i would like to know if this buck is from Southern Colorado or Northern Colorado? I don't think that will give out too much info. The ear width does throw a person off a bit. I have a 30.5" wide outside spread 4x5 mule deer. His ears are 23" wide, not huge but then when i seen him that day i shot him, i just knew he was 4-5 inches wider on each side. The biggest ear spread i have ever seen was on a mule deer we guided on my friends ranch here in Wyoming. He was a HUGE bodied 3x3. He had a wide set of horns too, one hunter passed him up because he was only as wide as his ears. We took another hunter to the spot the deer hangs out and when he seen him, he couldn't get his gun out fast enough and get ready! When we measured the deers ear width it came out to 27" inches wide if you pulled them forward like when they are listening and watching you. Biggest floppiest ears i have ever seen. Wish i would of taken more pictures when i guided back then.
