If they ban the AR15? When will that go into affect?

I can't see legislation like that getting through quickly if at all. What I am curious about is if it does get through how the treat the ones currently in circulation.

My 2 cents. The last so called assault weapons ban was a PITA to gun owners, and a complete failure in doing anything about murders that happened to be accomplished via a firearm. The greatest impact IMO, was to create a gold rush mentality to buy a banned gun ASAP before it took effect or after it's expiration, before they could do another one. A strong case can be made the 94 "ban" lead to the AR's current status as the most popular rifle in the USA. Ironic.

While the advocates for a new ban are unlikely to admit it, they know the last one was a joke, so will try to get a "better" ban if they can, including magazine capacity. As long as the house stays with the R's, we are unlikely to have another ban. We could see congress expand background checks to private sales/transfers and some terror list/no fly list stuff.

If Clinton wins and R's lose congressional majorities, but especially the House, all bets are off and I'd expect a very strong push for an actual ban if not at least classification equal to automatic weapons. But memories still exist among D's about what happened last time, so there is always the possibility of another "ban" that does not really do much but impact the look of a few guns and their magazine capacity. Regardless, there is no ban nor law a Jihadist or insane person will pay any attention to.

My guesses and opinions anyway.

I don't get why they restrict access to law abiding citizens yet loosen the punishments for those who use guns to commit crimes. No one thing will stop gun violence, but some stiff prison time will ensure that.

A ban will also create a much more robust "black market" as well. The dems are great for gun and ammo sales, I am sure they are spiking with the thought of the legislation passing.

Two former participants in the CIA’s Mars visitation program of the early 1980’s have confirmed that U.S. President Barack H. Obama was enrolled in their Mars training class in 1980 and was among the young Americans from the program who they later encountered on the Martian surface after reaching Mars via “jump room.”

Andrew D. Basiago, 50, a lawyer in Washington State who served in DARPA’s time travel program Project Pegasus in the 1970’s, and fellow chrononaut William B. Stillings, 44, who was tapped by the Mars program for his technical genius, have publicly confirmed that Obama was enrolled in their Mars training class in 1980 and that each later encountered Obama during visits to rudimentary U.S. facilities on Mars that took place from 1981 to 1983.

Their astonishing revelations provide a new dimension to the controversy surrounding President Obama’s background and pose the possibility that it is an elaborate ruse to conceal Obama’s participation as a young man in the U.S. secret space program.

never even heard of such a thing. but we all know you only deflect with this because ,I am right and you are wrong.
you think gun rights can never be taken from us. it is already happening, and has been for years.every crisis is an opportunity to pass more regs , while dummies are thinking with their hearts instead of their brains.

Yes you are absolutely right. Funny thing though, it always amazes me how crazy people don't realize they are crazy.

Because they're hypocrites, they live in bubbles and they're simple and irrational.

They don't really care about reducing the number of deaths, if they did, they'd try to ban cars, since as many or more people are killed in automobile accidents as are killed with guns every year.

They reason they don't advocate for the banning of cars is because they own three and use them everyday and their life would be greatly burdened by the banning of cars.

On the other hand, most of them don't own guns and don't care about guns and as a consequence they see no use for guns and if they don't have a use for a gun, then they don't see why anybody else has a use for a gun.

They think that if there were no guns, then nobody would be killed by guns, and since they have no use for a gun then guns should be banned so nobody gets killed.

If you ignore reality and the hypocrisy, it all makes sense.

The day they ban the AR15 is the day before the second revolution starts!!!!
I remember when carter , clinton and obama obama, was running for president and folks said the same about their inauguration day. truth is there was already a revolution. they call it the civil war and the wrong side won.

I could care less about slavery, pro or con. slavery was basically , the same to the war as the wolf is to the anti gun groups. nothing but a usefull means to drum up support.the north didn't really care enough about slavery,to fight a war over it or it would have happened much sooner.

the civil war was about two ideologies conflicting ,(big government vs small government) and that was the war that ultimately gave the feds the power to dismiss the constitutution whenever they saw fit to do so.
