resident rates went up a couple of years ago, yes if you already had bought your tag or license you where grandfathered in at the old rates.
Idaho sells out of tags now. 5 years ago you could buy a resident nonresident elk tag after you shot your resident elk. This year I bought both tags early and they did sell out. next year my second elk and deer tag will be more expensive, but I will buy both again.

people forget, Idaho residents can buy non resident tags to be able to have a second elk and deer tag at non resident rates.

the way I see it is ,if they are selling out ,the cost must be to low.
That would only be accurate if NR tags were actually being bought only by NR. Every R that buys a 2nd NR tag skews your argument into a false narrative.

If you want to know the true value of NR tags, then leave them to NRs and let the rates be set from there.

don't see it matters who buys em , they're being bought. besides , i'd generally rather hunt with residents in the field then nons.
