Can someone give me some advice on archery for antelope. I'd like to find an area that doesn't have tons of pressure. I'm thinking the top of the Lemhi or Pasimaroi for a 4-5 day spot/stalk hunt.

id put in for unit 68, the early hunt. only 40 tags but if you draw ull love it. it has a late hunt thats an unlimited quta from sep 10 to sep 24 but wont be nearly as good as early hunt. but 51 is really good too, im not certain but im pretty sure all of idaho is controled hunts for antelope.

All are controlled hunts. Some archery hunts are unlimited but you have to be in the draw to get them. You can put a hunt with a quota 1st choice and in unlimited 2nd choice and if you dont draw 1st choice you will draw the unlimited tag if you want to be guaranteed a tag. You can look up how many unlimited tags there were in each unit to get an idea of the pressure.

Spot and stock can be a lot of fun however, sitting good active water holes can increase your odds substantially!

Just to echo what MM said, put in for a limited quota hunt as your first choice, an unlimited quota tag as your second. Even with the unlimited quota tag you can get away from the crowds with a little effort. I drew an unlimited tag last year, went on ten stalks before finally connecting with a great buck at 40 yards. Frustrating at times but very addicting. I can't wait to get back out there again this fall!

The Buck Antelope Montana Decoy is absolutely essential on any form of an Antelope hunt, their common curiosity always gets the best of them. We shot a buck during the heat of the rut at 33 yards in 2010 using one and I can't count the # of goats we've smashed over the last few years using one! You can actually put a stalk on in wide open country.
