My vote for #1 is Fresh Tracks. The rest of them are hit and miss with me. A bit off the thread but I actually enjoy the "do it yourself" You tube hunting videos the most.
+1. And from what I have seen, there is nothing close. I have not seen Western Hunter w/ Nate Simmons, that seems like it might be legit.Fresh Tracks is the best hunting show on TV right now.
I've watched Western Hunter a few times and one observation I have is that Nate Simmons is the biggest crybaby and whiner on tv.+1. And from what I have seen, there is nothing close. I have not seen Western Hunter w/ Nate Simmons, that seems like it might be legit.
I've seen him complain but he's the most authentic guy on tv with randy. That's how it is. That show is true hunting because hunting isn't chipper and happy the whole time. Never is unless your road huntin to shoot the first legal animal. Just never is. Him missing a buck in Wyoming last season, and how ticked he was. I've felt the exact same way, heck even reacted very similar when I shot right through the top flesh above the spine of a buck. And how the new season started out with him talkin about the problem and how he solved the target panic. That's the most authentic part I've seen because that was 100% true and o can vouch from experience.I've watched Western Hunter a few times and one observation I have is that Nate Simmons is the biggest crybaby and whiner on tv.
One of the shows I watched had a small bull, a 5 point I believe, bust him at close range and Nate had a temper tantrum like a five year old.
It's easy for you to say that when you weren't the one that busted your butt to hike that many miles and work that hard.I've watched Western Hunter a few times and one observation I have is that Nate Simmons is the biggest crybaby and whiner on tv.

I also quit watching Team Elk for this reason. Too much Lee & Tiffany on the Express UU Bar whatever ranch. But, the show that Randy Newberg did in the Bighorns... that was one of the best I've ever seen. I could be biased though.I am a member of RMEF and I used to watch a fair amount of the RMEF show but it seems they have pretty much gone to a guided private land show. The one exception was when Randy did a show with his friend.
Man Vikingload you just shut me down. I was fixing to start filming me elk hunting but not now. Haha. I promise mine wouldn't be quite like the rest of these boys. I can't afford $15,000 bulls.I'm glad that I am not the only one who has gotten tired of these second rate hunting shows where it is only about the kill shot and the 400 advertisers!!! I love Eastman's because they have a lot of Wyoming hunting, Randy's show is awesome and feels it portrays the types of hunts I do. Into high country and solo hunter aren't bad either. I used to watch every elk hunt I could find on tv, but if its a dude from the east coast or SE and they are in NM I turn it off.
Nah you're good. Just messing with ya. I do like Primos just because they do bow hunt but trust me I do know all things are "relative". If you got the cash, shooting a big bull is a lot easier...not a guarantee but easier that's for sure. But I agree I like the full hunt as well.Sorry man I probably should have clarified my statement and I made a very broad generalization with the elk hunting in New Mexico, which was my fault. I love to see the full hunt, the calling, stalking, kill and pack out. It just kills me to watch the guys buy a hunt/elk and make a episode where they follow a guy who does all the work and then shoot a big bull vs the working man who goes out and works for that animal. I hope that explains my point a little better than my last post, hahaha!!!!
I wish they would show some of pack out that would be awesome, show what work it is.
Ha-ha, yup give me some ideas. Hopefully I can use them sometime!I have one from last year but its not on line yet!! Want to see the pain don't ya!![]()
