I sure miss river duck hunting. It was one of my favorite things to do. I never had a fancy blind though. I always ditched the boat and hunted out of layout blinds.

We have done that too, but for the most part we build impromptu blinds or just get well hidden by the brush.

Ever try layout blinds with snowcovers?

I used those a lot and almost felt bad for the birds...almost.....lol

Layouts have pretty much been a field endeavor for us, but if we hadn't built a blind on one property two weeks ago lay outs might have been a part of the discussion. We have used them in the first split for teal hunts next to ponds though.
